
Fast-Track to .GOV Program
For qualifying entities and their technology partners, OVW offers a program to support the critical need of migrating State and local entities to .GOV domains. This program is designed to move more quickly than our standard “In a Box” program because there is already a strong relationship between the entity and their technology partner, as well as a more secure digital presence (i.e., email and website hosting/management).
With this strong foundation between the entity and their technology partner, OVW will provide fewer engineering resources and, instead, rely on the technology partner to migrate the entity.
However, to support the grant’s mission to reduce the financial burden to migrate, the entity and technology partner are still eligible for gap license and approved technology service reimbursement. (Note: this is only for active .GOV migrations; no funding is available for previously completed migrations.)
Program Eligibility
• Email platform must be M365 or Microsoft Gov Cloud (no user migration needed)
• Entity must have less than 50 users
• OVW must be granted Global Reader read-only access to perform baseline cybersecurity and license audit (to be able to receive reimbursement for license gaps/upgrades)
• Entity and technical partner must agree to complete migration in less than 60 days from program initiation without OVW engineering or support desk on-site services
Program Components
• Technology partner-provided .GOV email and website migration (grant funding available for amount approved by OVW during Assessment phase)
• 3 years of gap license pay out
• Business card re-order pay out
• Technical and organizational cybersecurity audit and Assessment report
• Annual cybersecurity training program (on site with entity)
